hi everyone!!! Sorry for the lack of posts. Yesterday, like many of you, I went to see Breaking Dawn. LOVED IT!!! I really hope the DVD comes out soon (: 

Anyway, since it was a 'special occasion' I thought of doing a dark-gothic look. I had no idea of how it was going to turn out but, at the end, I think it turned out pretty good *pat on the back*!!! 

First thing I applied was my trusty Illamasqua Rich Liquid Foundation- this bad boy covers EVERYTHING and photographs beautifully. Then I slapped some MAC Select Cover Up concealer under my eyes and did some intense contouring with NARS Laguna bronzer and Estee Lauder Illuminating Powder Gelèe. 

On my eyes I applied Chanel's Illusion D'Ombre in Mirifique on the lid, MAC's Patina in the crease and UD's Creep in the outter V. Then I used Inglot's Gel Liner on my upper and lower lash line and Lancome's Hypnose mascara. I also added Benefit's High Brow pencil in the inner corner and on my brow bone.

For my lips I went neutral and picked MAC's Lady Gaga 2 lipstick.

Comunque, visto l'occasione speciale ho pensato di ricreare un look gotico-dark; in realtà non avevo la più pallida idea di cosa ne sarebbe uscito, però alla fine devo ammettere di essere rimasta soddisfatta! 

Come prima cosa ho applicato il mio fidatissimo Illamasqua Rich Liquid Foundation- questa roba copre TUTTO ed esce meravigliosamente in fotografia. Poi ho usato il correttore MAC Select Cover Up sotto gli occhi ed ho fatto un bel pò di contouring con NARS Laguna Bronzer e Estee Lauder Illuminating Powder Gelèe.

Sugli occhi ho applicato Chanel Illusion D'Ombre in Mirifique su tutta la palpebra, MAC Patina nella piega e Creep della UD nell'angolo esterno. Poi ho usato l'eyeliner in gel della Inglot sulla linea superiore ed inferiore, il mascara Hypnose di Lancome ed infine la matita High Brow della Benefit nell'angolo interno dell'occhio e sull'arcata sopracigliare. 

Per le labbra ho pensato bene di andare su un colore neutro ed ho optato per il rossetto MAC Lady Gaga 2.

Saturday haul: ASOS, Prada & Clarins

So....I've been thinking of it. I've been wanting it. I thought of asking it for Christmas. But I just could wait, so I bought it: Prada's new perfume Prada Candy!!!! Fell in love with it when I first sniffed it at Sephora about a month ago. It's sweet and stays on for a looooong time. 

Another product I've been wanting to get but didn't cos some beauty stores didn't have it was Clarins new Eye Contour Gel. I had a sample of it and used it religiously every morning and absolutely loved it. I love the tube packing cos it's so much easier to apply. And I love the gel texture cos it's so quick to absorbe. Despite the fact that having just a sample I was able to use it only for a few days I did notice less darkness under my eyes to the point that sometimes I forgot to apply concealer! Glad I was finally able to find the full size.

Last week I also did some intense online shopping. I placed my first order on ASOS and bought a couple of jeans. A lighter wash and a darker wash. Both torn,...cos I'm currently obsessed with torn jeans!!! I will definitely repurchase from the ASOS website cos shipping was fast and I LOVE the stuff they have!

Dopo mille ripensamenti sabato scorso mi son detta basta, lo voglio! E così ho comprato il nuovo profumo Prada, Prada Candy!!!! Quanto mi piace!!! E' dolce e dura a lungo e me ne sono innamorata dalla prima volta che l'ho odorata a Sephora circa un mesetto fa. Un altro prodotto che ho voluto comprare recentemente ma che non ero mai riuscita a trovare è il Gel Contorno Occhi della Clarins. Mi avevano dato un campioncino qualche tempo fa e mi è piaciuto subito:  il formato a tubicino che lo rende facile da usare e la texture in gel che si assorbe velocemente. Finalmente sabato sono riuscita a trovare il full size. 

  La settimana scorsa ho anche fatto un pò di shopping online: ho fatto il mio primo ordine su ASOS. Ho comprato due jeans e mi piacciono un sacco!!!

Yesterday I went for a neutral look. I’ve been recreating LittleKiva’s tutorial of the UD Naked Palette very often recently and I’ve been loving it. It’s easy, quick and pretty. For foundation I decided to give GA’s Lasting Silk Foundation a go and……mmmmmm…..it’s still not my go-to foundation but I think I found a trick to make it work. My issues with this foundation were basically two: the dull/grey finish and the poor coverage.  For more brightness and glow I discovered that applying Clarins Beauty Balm as a base really helps to brighten up my face. As for the coverage, instead of the usual two pumps, I added a third and it made a huge difference. Should have thought of that earlier!!! Anyway, after that I used MAC’s Select Cover Up concealer and MAC’s Sheer Pressed Powder on my t-zone. I decided to go a bit strong on the blush since my eyes were going to be pretty neutral: Illamasqua’s Libido blush. For the eyes, after prepping them with UDPP in Sin, I used the Naked palette: first Naked and Buck in the crease, then Sin on the lid. I then lined both upper and lower lash line with MAC’s Coffee pencil and applied YSL’s brown mascara. For the lips I used a lipstick I have been absolutely adoring: Chanel’s Boy lipstick.

Ieri pomeriggio mi sentivo poco fantasiosa e quindi come look ho ricreato il tutorial di LittleKiva sul UD Naked Palette. L’ho fatto diverse volte ultimamente e mi piace un sacco: è semplice, veloce e molto carino. Per il fondotinta ho deciso di dare una chance al Lasting Silk di Giorgio Armani e……mmmm…….non sarà ancora tra i miei preferiti, ma forse ho trovato un modo per farlo funzionare. I motivi per cui questo fondotinta non mi ha fatto impazzire sono due: l’effetto grigio/spento e la poca coprenza. Per ovviare al primo ho scoperto che applicando il Beauty Balm della Clarins come base si riesce ad ottenere quella luce e luminosità che tanto mi piace. E per la coprenza, invece dei soliti due ‘spruzzi’ del dosatore ne ho aggiunto un terzo ed ha fatto la differenza. A saperlo prima!!! Comunque, ho continuato applicando il correttore Select Cover Up e la Sheer Pressed Powder entrambi della MAC. Come blush ho deciso di scegliere qualcosa di vistoso visto che gli occhi sarebbero stati piuttosto neutri: Libido di Illamasqua. Per gli occhi, dopo aver messo UDPP in Sin come base, ho usato la Naked Palette: Naked e Buck nella piega dell’occhio e Sin sulla palpebra. Come matita ho applicato Coffee della MAC e poi il mascara marrone YSL. Sulle labbra ho usato un rossetto che sto adorando da quando l’ho comprato: Boy di Chanel.

We had a long weekend here in Italy thanks to a pubblic holiday... I rested (much needed!), went out for dinner, went to the cinema, visited my grandma and, strangely, did NO shopping! I finally had the chance to use my new YSL palette and I must say the colors are beautiful, so easy to work with and sparkling...you know how much I love bling!!! I did two looks: one using the dark green on the lid and dark purple in the crease (both colors on the left side on the palette), and another one using the lilac on the lid and darker violet in the crease (both colors on the bottom part of the palette). Chanel's Noir Liner and Lancome Hypnose mascara. What do you think?! I really love the green-purple combo more!!!

Questo lungo weekend ci voleva proprio, mi sono riposata, sono andata a cena fuori, andata al cinema, fatto visita ai parenti e stranamente NON ho fatto shopping! Ho finalmente avuto modo di usare la mia nuova palette YSL ed i colori sono bellissimi, brillanti e facili da applicare e sfumare. Molto pigmentati. Ho fatto due look: uno usando il verde scuro sulla palpebra e viola scuro nella piega (i due colori sul lato sinistro della palette) ed un altro usando il lilla sulla palpebra e viola scuro nella piega (i due colori inferiori della palette). Chanel Noir Liner e Lancome Hypnose mascara. Che ve ne pare?! A me piace un sacco la combinazione verde-viola!!!   

D&G POUCH

Just a short post to show you an awesome freebie I got last weekend after spending lots of $$$ at the beauty store. This D&G pouch was exactely what I needed. My clearcube is getting 'slightly' full so, to gain an extra drawer for my makeup I decided to move out all my nail polishes and put them in this pouch. It is very spacious and...it looks so chic!!!

Un breve post per farvi vedere un omaggio che mi è stato dato la settimana scorsa dopo aver speso un patrimonio in profumeria. E' esattamente quello di cui avevo bisogno. Il mio clearcube è quasi pieno e quindi ho pensato di guadagnare un tiretto in più per il makeup togliendo fuori gli smalti e mettendoli in questa bellissima pochette. E' molto spaziosa, fatta in materiale resistente e....très chic!!! 

Saturday haul #29

okaaay....last weekend I went shopping crazy. Obviously plenty of time was spent at numerous beauty stores,...but my main purchase was a new pair of Ugg boots. I bought my first pair of Uggs last year (pics here) and I litterally lived in them the whole winter. So by the end of summer I promised myself I would get a new pair. Autumn has just begun and it's not really THAT COLD yet, but I couldn't wait any longer and since I was afraid I wouldn't find the boots I wanted later on...I just bought them now! Ugg boots are so adorable and COMFORTABLE. They keep my feet warm and I would never take them off! I love all their styles, but my favorite is the Bailey botton style. As far as makeup I bought Chanel's new Perfection Lumière foundation, Chanel's Rouge Coco Shine lipstick in Boy and Chanel's Hydrating Serum....yes lots of Chanel!!! I also got YSL's autumn collection palette (after seeing Rae's latest tutorial!) and Estee Lauder's new highlighter. Enjoy!































Lo scorso weekend mi sono data alla pazza gioia. Ovviamente un sacco di makeup è stato acquistato ma il pezzo forte è stato il mio nuovo paio di stivali Ugg. L'anno scorso comprai il mio primo paio e li ho indossati praticamente durante tutto l'inverno. Anche se l'autunno è praticamente appena iniziato non ho resistito perchè temevo di non trovare più il modello/colore che volevo. Adoro lo style Bailey, e dopo il grigio basso, ho optato per il colore 'biscotto' alto. In ambito trucco ho comprato il nuovo fondotinta Perfection Lumière di Chanel, il rossetto Boy di Chanel ed il siero idratante sempre di Chanel. Tanto Chanel! Ho acquistato anche la nuova palette YSL della collezione autunnale (dopo aver visto l'ultimo tutorial di Rae!) e l'illuminante di Estee Lauder. Wow tanti prodotti da provare!!!

You already know how much I like to experiment with my makeup on the weekends. Sometimes I come out with pretty looks, other times I go over board and my makeup is a disaster!!! Well apparently yesterday I did a good job on my eye makeup cos I received a ton of compliments...*happy face*! My mom said I looked nice (I know, family doesn't count!) and, when I went out shopping, almost all of the SA said something about my eye makeup. Truth is I was inspired by the Pixiwoo's latest tutorial and, since I don't have the products used in that video, I decided to use something very similar (if not better): Chanel's Illusion D'Ombre eyeshadow in Epatant. I will never stop raving about these eyeshadows. Deal with it! Anyway in the Pixiwoo's tutorial Samantha applied an eyeshadow with a beautiful duo chrome, silver to red. So I used Benefit's cream e/s in Stiletto on the lid and on the crease; then I applied Chanel's Epatant on the lid...and that's basically of I got the silver-red combo. For eyeliner I used Chanel cake Noir Liner, Lancome's Hypnose mascara and Dior's Sable pencil for the brows. On my faced I opted for Illamasqua's Rich Liquid Foundation, contoured with NARS Laguna and highlighted with Dior's Amber Diamond. YSL rouge voluptè #2 on the lips and...done! 

Sapete già quanto mi piace sperimentare col trucco nei fine settimana. A volte ho successo, altre volte è un disastro! Beh a quanto pare ieri ho fatto un buon lavoro perchè ho ricevuto un sacco di complimenti ...*faccia felice*! La verità è che mi sono ispirata all'ultimo tutorial delle Pixiwoo e, dato che non ho i prodotti utilizzati in quel video, ho deciso di usare qualcosa di molto simile (se non migliore): il mio tanto amato Epatant di Chanel. Nel video Samantha ha usato un bellissimo ombretto duocromo, argento-rosso. Così ho usato come base l'ombretto in crema Stiletto della Benefit sulla palpebra e piega dell'occhio, poi ho applicato Epatant solo sulla palpebra ... e questo è come ho creato la combinazione argento-rosso. Come eyeliner ho usato Chanel Liner Noir, mascara Hypnose di Lancome e matita Sable Dior per le sopracciglia. Sul mio viso ho optato per il Rich Liquid Foundation di Illamasqua, il bronzer NARS Laguna per il contouring e Dior Amber Diamond come illuminante. YSL rouge volupté #2 sulle labbra e ... fatto! 

REVIEW: GIORGIO ARMANI LASTING SILK FOUNDATION

Last week I bought Giorgio Armani’s Lasting Silk foundation. I previously did a lot of research because I was debated between the Luminous Silk and the Lasting Silk. Honestly, up to today I am still not 100% convinced of my choice… I didn’t have the ‘WOW’ reaction I was hoping for.

- the coverage isn’t that great at all, I totally agree with all those reviews saying that GA’s foundations have a very very light coverage. Seriously, my Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer covers way better!

- I hate the finish… it’s way too mat and my face looks dull! Totally flat. After two days of wearing it, this morning I decided to take some extra time to apply NARS Copacabana highlighter on my cheeks just get some sort of SHINE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And here is where the doubt sneeks in…. what if Luminous Silk was better? Mmmm…………..

- I got the color #7 and it matches my skin tone pretty well (I am a MAC NW30).

- I love the packaging, the bottle is sleek and the pump works easily.

- The best aspect of this foundation, for me, is the fragrance!!!!!! It smells like Johnson’s Baby shampoo, love it!!!!!!

Overall the Giorgio Armani Lasting Silk foundation was a disappointment. I will use it off and on, so that €43 won’t be a total lost, but I definitely don’t recommend it,…unless you have picture perfect, radiant skin that needs very very very light coverage and no glow!!! 

La settimana scorsa ho comprato il fondotinta Lasting Silk di Giorgio Armani. Ho fatto un sacco di ricerche perché ero dibattuta tra la Luminous Silk e la Lasting Silk. Onestamente ad oggi non sono ancora convinta al 100% della scelta fatta... non ho avuto la reazione 'WOW' che speravo. - La copertura non è poi così buona, sono pienamente d'accordo con tutte le recensioni che affermano che i fondotinta GA hanno una copertura molto molto leggera. Cavolo la mia Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer copre molto meglio! - Non mi piace l'effetto finale sul viso ... è troppo opaco e il mio viso appare spento! Totalmente piatto. Dopo due giorni che lo porto, questa mattina ho deciso di applicare l'illuminante Copacabana della NARS sulle guance per avere un pò di luminosità!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ed è qui che il dubbio si insinua ....e se la Luminous Silk era migliore? Mmmm ... ... ... ... .. - Ho preso il colore # 7 e devo dire che corrisponde abbastanza bene al mio tono di pelle (io sono un MAC NW30). - Amo il packaging, la bottiglia è elegante ed il dosatore funziona facilmente. - L'aspetto migliore di questo fondotinta, per me, è la fragranza!!!!!! Mi ricorda  Johnson's baby shampoo, che buonooo!!!!!! 

Nel complesso il fondotinta Giorgio Armani Lasting Silk è stato una delusione. Lo userò saltuariamente, giusto per non far sembrare €43 una perdita totale, ma sicuramente non lo consiglio, ... a meno che hai una pelle già perfetta e luminosa che richiede zero copertura e nessuna luminosità!
