LOOK OF THE DAY + MINI HAUL

Last friday I went out for dinner to celebrate yet another friend's birthday but also did a bit of shopping before the stores closed. You already know how much I have been loving Chanel's new cream eyeshadows from the Illusoire D'Ombre collection and I decided to get another one in the color Ebloui. The next day we went to the cinema to see The Smurfes (so funny!) and so I wore my new Chanel eyeshadow: hmmm kinda disappointed! Is it a must-have product? Absolutely no. I would describe it as the cream version of MAC's Satin Taupe. Applied dry it is a pretty dull taupe color. Applied wet it appears slightly better with that metallic effect that I love so much. I don't regret buying it since I adore the Chanel formula and know I will get alot of use out of it during the fall-winter. But if you are thinking of getting any of these new Chanel cream eyeshadows DO NOT get Ebloui cos you can find a dupe of this color easily!

Venerdì scorso, prima di una mega abbuffata tra amici in pizzeria, sono riuscita a fare un pò di shopping prima che i negozi chiudessero. Visto che sto adorando i nuovi ombretti in crema di Chanel ho pensato di prenderne un altro nel colore Ebloui. Sabato l'ho usato e devo dire...mmmm un pò deludente. Io ho immediatamente pensato che Ebloui altro non fosse che il dupe di Satin Taupe della MAC. Applicato asciutto non mi piaceva per niente, un colore davvero noioso. Applicato bagnato andava già meglio perchè si ha quell'effetto metallico che mi piace un sacco. Non mi pento d'averlo comprato perchè gli ombretti della collezione Illusion D'Ombre di Chanel mi piacciono tanto e so che Ebloui lo userò molto durante l'autunno e inverno. Ma se siete incerte su quale nuance scegliere non prendete Ebloui perchè gli altri colori della collezione sono molto più belli!!!!!!!! 

MY NEW MIU MIU BOW BAG!!!

I have been waiting for WEEKS to write this blogpost!!!! Last friday I finally recieved my first ever new Miu Miu bow bag...my new baby :) This is all Laura's fault cos she's the one who introduced me to this bag and the more I saw her carring it in her OOTD pictures the more I fell in love with it. Choosing the color was extremely difficult cos the bow bag comes is a variety of colors, all so beautiful. At first I opted for Mughetto (a light pastel pink) but then I had second thoughts cos I was afraid I would get tired of that color and that it wasn't going to match well with all my autumn-winter clothes. So I contacted the Miu Miu store in Milan and picked the color Grigio (a standard gray). After that starting doing some research online (should've done that earlier!!!) and I came across some pictures of Vanessa Hudgens carring her Miu Miu bow bag and I fell in love with the color she had: many say it's white but to me it didn't seem white at all!!! More of a 'dirty white/stone' color I would say... Sooooo after reading forums and other blogs I changed my mind yet again and went for the color POMICE, a very very light grey, stone-ish color. BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!!!!!!! Anyway enough with the rant, lets see the pics.... 

Ebbene sì, vi presento la nuova arrivata nella mia famiglia di borse: la Miu Miu bow bag!!!!!! Lo ammetto, fino a qualche mese fa non conoscevo questo modello di borsa, e la marca Miu Miu non mi interessava granchè. Ma dopo aver scoperto il nuovo blog di Laura (lollipop26) me ne sono innamorata. Scegliere il colore è stato difficilissimo, sono passata da Mughetto a Grigio per finire su Pomice e sono felicissima della mia scelta perchè è un colore eccezionale ed unico. Ho fatto l'ordine via email con lo store Miu Miu a Milano e non sul sito Miu Miu perchè non c'era il colore che volevo. Se qualcuna di voi avesse bisogno dell'indirizzo email del negozio a Milano scrivetemi pure una mail :)

Mini book haul

My to-be-read pile has an amount of books that would last me at least two years.  Still I continue buying books. I bought Eon and Eona during my trip in NYC and recently I ordered Room and The Radley's on Amazon (my excuse for these last two was that my sis wanted the Tudors DVD boxes so I thought of throwing in the basket something for moi!)

Saturday Haul #26

Well last weekend I was a good girl cos I didn't go shopping crazy. Maybe cos I spent a TON of €€€ on my new glasses (yes yes I will take pics of me actually wearing them asap!) and thought it wise to take it easy! Also me and my sister had to buy a bunch of birthday presents for friends so I really wasn't focused on stuff for myself...STRANGELY!!!!! I did although buy some cheap accessories from H&M:

A parte qualche accessorio da H&M non ho comprato nulla questo weekend. Brava Lara! Lo ammetto, dopo aver speso una fortuna per gli occhiali ho pensato fosse saggio non comprare nient'altro...almeno fino al prossimo weekend! Vi prometto che posterò presto delle foto in cui indosso gli occhiali...mi ci devo ancora abituare! 

LOOK OF THE DAY

Despite the fact that I basically used my new Chanel eyeshadows almost everyday of the week, I really wanted to use them on Saturday too cos I wanted to show you how amazing they look. IMO there's one word that best describes them: EASY. These eyeshadows are so easy to work with it's incredible. They don't require blending nor preciseness, all you have to do is dab your brush in the eyeshadow pot at literally slap it on your eyelid and you're done. I promise! I applied Epatant on my lid and Mirifique in the outer corner and as an eyeliner. L'Oreal Voluminous Mascara and Shiseideo gel eyeliner on my water line. For the face I used MUFE's HD Foundation, contoured with Laguna bronzer by NARS and highlighted with MAC's Silver Dusk loose powder (love this stuff to death!!!). On the lips I went for Dior's Runway Red lipstick...and I was ready to go!!!

Nonostante il fatto che abbia usato i nuovi ombretti Chanel quasi tutti i giorni della settimana ho di usarli anche nel weekend perchè volevo assolutamente mostrarvi come stanno. Questi nuovi ombretti sono fantastici e facili da applicare, non richiedono d'essere sfumati e nemmeno grossa precisione. Il risultato finale è a dir poco meraviglioso, sembra d'essere stati truccati da un makeup artist!!! Ho applicato Epatant su tutta la palpebra e Mirifique sull'angolo esterno e come eyeliner. Come mascara ho scelto L'Oreal Voluminous Mascara e Shiseido eyeliner in gel sulla linea inferiore. Sul viso ho applicato il fondotinta MUFE HD ed ho fatto un pò di contouring con il bronzer Laguna della NARS e Silver Dusk come highlighter (adoro quest'ultimo!!!). Come rossetto ho optato per Runway Red di Dior e....pronta per uscrire!!!
