I always get a sense of disbelief when I finish a makeup product. I’m like: “for real? Did I really actually finish a makeup item?!!!”.
I rarely finish anything when it comes to makeup, mainly because I have quite the stash! I’m always rotating my routine, changing foundations, using different eyeshadows, wearing different lipsticks. And in a way I think it’s a good thing: yes I buy more makeup than the average, but I always make it a point to use EVERYTHING I have. The result of this is that it takes me very very long time to finish a product!
Today I tossed out 2 foundations that I bought last year (or maybe year before last?!) and pretty much enjoyed. The first one is Benefit’s Hello Flawless foundation: it’s a very lightweight and gives a luminous finish to the skin. The coverage is sheer-light (not my fave) and it doesn’t really have a super long staying power. Nevertheless it was my go-to foundation when my skin was in good shape and I didn’t feel like wearing a lot of makeup.
The second foundation is Naked by Urban Decay. This one is basically identical to Hello Flawless in terms of coverage but with a less dewy finish. I felt it oxidized too much on my skin and the shade became too dark. Will I repurchase it? No. I don’t think I’ll repurchase neither one of the foundations mentioned because the coverage of both is just way too light for my taste. I managed to finish them by mixing them with other foundations I have: my recent favorite combo has been Hello Flawless mixed with Maybelline’s Fit Me foundation, LOVE!!!!! Applied with my Beauty Blender it gave me the perfect coverage, finish and match to my skin.
Would I recommend them? Absolutely yes if you have pretty good skin and you’re looking for a sheer coverage foundation with a very natural finish. But for my girls out there that want/need COVERAGE than nope….this is not the way to go!!!
On a side note, I recently started collecting all the makeup/beauty products I finish in one big bag so that I can film my first Empties video “soon” so….look forward to that!
